Beki is a co- founder and director of DBF Capital Partners. Prior to the establishment of DBF, Beki was Group CFO at ABC Holdings, the parent Company of BancABC. Beki is a seasoned banker with industry experience spanning over 25 years. He has worked in Investment Banking, Treasury, Risk, Operations and headed up Group IT. His banking career started at Stanbic Bank in Zimbabwe where he was employed as Chief Accountant.   Prior to joining the Banking world Beki trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche where he quickly rose to Audit Manager.   Beki holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Business Administration degree in Banking and Finance from Manchester University and he completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

Doug is a founding Partner of DBF Capital Partners and recently the CEO of BancABC since its formation in 2000 and was Managing Director of its predecessors, First Merchant Bank and Heritage Investment Bank (Heritage).

Doug founded Heritage in 1995. He later successfully negotiated Heritage’s merger with First Merchant Bank Limited, then controlled by Anglo American Corporation. Prior to setting up Heritage, he was an executive with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the American University, Washington DC and completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

Francis is a founding partner of DBF Capital Partners.  Francis was born in Zimbabwe in 1960. He has held various senior banking positions, with over 30 years’ experience in the banking industry in Southern Africa, 19 of which were spent at ABC Holdings Limited (BancABC group) and its predecessor companies. He was Group Chief Operating Officer and Board member from 2008 till end of 2014- and was member of the Executive Committee from 2006 till end of 2014. Francis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Banking, Insurance and Finance from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom (UK) and a Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance from John Moores University, also in the UK and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK.

Ian has more than 10 year’s professional experience in top management in the Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Tax Industry. After leaving South Africa in 2001, Ian engaged in a number of high level positions before starting up his own, London based, accounting and tax firm in May 2004. After selling out of the business in 2011 he returned to South Africa to continue his career. In his current position as Chief Financial Officer for the Arkein Group Of companies, Ian is the executive responsible for the finance and administration side of the business. He was appointed in June 2011, at the outset of the company and has been instrumental in setting up the systems and processes for each of the business entities. Ian completed his B.Com degree at the University in Natal, at the University of Pietermaritzburg and then at the beginning of 2001 ventured to London where he started a very successful Accounting and Tax career. After 3 years of being employed in various permanent management positions in and around London, Ian opened up his own accounting business that serviced many foreign nationals in UK performing their personal and business Accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax requirements. His accounting business grew significantly over the years and eventually sold off and joined Arkein, with an intention to participate more in the corporate finance and accounting for new emerging market businesses in Africa

Rob is strategic and visionary business leader, with over 22 years of proven corporate experience in various industries ranging from retail & manufacturing, petrochemicals, financial services, public sector, and mining. In his different roles he has been involved in defining and implementing business architectures and models, leading large scale multi million rand change programmes, reengineering end to end business processes for revenue growth and operational efficiencies, and embedding risk management and control management disciplines. Having led large teams responsible for sales support, operations, IT, business assurance and intelligence, as well as project management, he has developed a well-rounded expertise and array of executive management skills and experience to excel in his role as the energy and water stream lead for DIDG. Rob has also been involved in deal structuring, transaction advisory, capital raising, and project management on various transactions for clients in the private and public sector.

Donovan commands more than 15 years of professional experience at senior levels in blue chip companies including National Empowerment Fund, Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC), Vesuvius International and Group Five. Donovan began his career as an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer at Engen Petroleum Refinery in Durban, and progressed to occupy senior management roles that included roles as operations engineer, production manager, general manager manufacturing and business development executive. In 2011 Donovan co-founded Arkein Capital Partners with Anglo- American Kumba Trust. In his role as CEO of Arkein Capital Partners, he led the construction of an early stage (venture capital) industrials portfolio, creating new companies with a potential balance sheet size in excess of US$400 million. Also under his leadership, Arkein has formed two funds totalling more than US$350 million which Arkein was the Private Equity Fund Manager. In 2012 and 2013 he also led a number of private equity buy-outs for a Community Trust totaling US$150 million and setting up healthcare fund of US$200 million in 2014.Between 2008 and 2011, Donovan was the Head of Strategic Projects Fund, a division of the National Empowerment Fund specializing in Venture Capital, Private Equity and Project Finance. Under his leadership, the fund grew from zero to a portfolio size projected to be in excess of ZAR25 billion for some 27 projects. Donovan has a solid track record in closing deals in sectors including mining, mineral beneficiation, chemicals, petrochemicals, telecommunications, renewable energy, water, infrastructure, aviation, healthcare and construction.
